Columnist Bill Keller discusses the 5 "myths" of Obamacare: the fact that it is a job killer, a federal takeover of health insurance, that the unfettered marketplace is a better solution, that the states can fix the issues with healthcare without the interference of the federal government, and that "OBAMACARE IS A LOSER. RUN AGAINST IT, RUN FROM IT, BUT FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE DON’T RUN ON IT".
I will have to agree that Keller presents his arguments in an effective and concise manner. His use of diction and sarcastic inflection (tone) throughout the article makes for an interesting, albeit grossly uninformed read. Although Keller presents several attempts at concession/rebuttal, the reader is left with a headache from the excessive drilling of Keller's selective evidentiary support-supporting only his opinon.

Jason DeParle compares and contrasts the life of two families in this piece regarding the overwhelming privilege of children born to married parents as oppose to those raised by single parents. DeParle also explores the fact that the majority of these underprivileged children raised in "unmarried" households are also minorities. "Long a nation of economic extremes, the United States is also becoming a
society of family haves and family have-nots, with marriage and its
rewards evermore confined to the fortunate classes" (DeParle 1).
I believe the effectiveness of this argument was established by the detailed exploration of two mother's lives: Jessica Schairer and Chris Faulkner. The insight provided through this approach to the argument is undeniably powerful: the appeal to authority for the argument is solely placed with the subject being discussed-bringing an entirely new kind of merit to the issues discussed.

Yes...it's late. I suck at life.
Yes, Roxy, you suck at life because you have a late blog post. Ridiculous girl. The bathing suits are arriving (at school, of course) tomorrow. Very excited. Get back to work, thine terrible student who dared to submit a late blog post.
