Review of the movie Chronicle by Roger Moore

Moore gives us the plot line immediately in the first paragraph. Then he moves to compare the special visual effects with ones from the last two “ Spider Man” movies and showing his preference for the visual effects in “Chronicles”.
In the third paragraph Moore mentions the actors names and describes the characters with their personalities and how this has a huge impact in how the movie will develop. He also gives a lot of emphasis to the fact that they are teenagers and what this does to the movie from making the movie more realistic by stating “kind of real-teens/real-problems melodramatic screenplay” to analyzing the way these teenagers will handle their super powers and consequences of their actions. He follows to describe specific examples of what the characters can do with their super powers and how they started playing with them as a game but slowly start to master.
Moore continues to point out the conflict that rises among each other with when, why, how and how much they can use their powers and trying to deal with the reactions of their doings to society. He also briefly mentions a love story of one of the character’s and the dysfunctional family situation of another one.
He describes the characters as “ Charismatic, sympathetic and charming.” He moves to compare “Chronicles” flying effects with the ones in “ Superman” and “Spider Man”, he shows his preference towards the effects in “Chronicles” by telling us that “ the flying effects are first-rate”.
Then he mentions the director to touch on the script by stating that he found it surprisingly unpredictable as the movie progressed.
He describes “Chronicles” as a “semi-serious sci-fi romp” and gives his conclusion showing that he enjoys the originality of this movie versus the regular comic book story lines with superheroes in costumes.
