It's Never Normal When You're Norman; ParaNorman (2012)

Besides being able to talk to your dead grandma, see other ghosts and be the only person to stop a witches curse on the town, Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee) is a normal kid who is misunderstood by his family and gets bullied at school; of course for the reason that he can communicate with the supernatural.

Struggling on a day to day basis between his family and school, Norman has no one to really turn to besides his ghostly friends and soon meets Neil (Tucker Albrizzi) who tremendously embraces Norman's unique gift. He starts getting weird visions about the town's history and it's curse and this is where even stranger paranormal events begin to take place. He then has to take responsibility to end the witch's curse and gains assistance along the way to bring it to an end.

Throughout the movie we see character roles change and watch how they grow to understand each other.

The message that the writer/director (Chris Butler) was basically trying to get across is no matter how completely different a person is from the general population, we all have something unique about us that can accomplish that one certain task no one else can.
