Blog post 4 (Freezing tuition: It's not such a hot idea State budgets aren't stable enough to require colleges to hold costs steady for four years. The reason that I chose this peace is that it has current events with schools education mainly college education. This Article explains tuition and hold costs for four years. What's moves this article has is ethos, logos, diction. In this peace the claims are defiantly noticeable. At the end of this peace his rebuttal is clearly stated at the end of the article. The effectiveness is okay but not as strong it's makes it's points and gives a clear understanding.of what the main reasons that he is trying to address. RB) Realistically, families should start planning for steeply rising tuition many years before their children even apply to colleges. And ultimately, what's needed is more commitment on the part of colleges and universities to keep costs down, rather than rejiggering the formula for paying the ever-more-crushing price of a bachelor's degree. Clamis) Though they make financial planning more predictable, they could cost families more in the end. Colleges would have to guess at their own expenses over several years, which gives them an incentive to protect themselves against unforeseen costs by overcharging for the freshman year.  Claims )A more reasonable model might be guaranteed caps on tuition increases, allowing families to plan for regular price hikes while still giving universities some ability to react to rising expenses. Blog post 4 (2)The Free speech, even for liars The Supreme Court got it right in overturning the conviction of a man who claimed to hold the Medal of Honor. In this article Xavier Alvarez, a former member of the Three Valleys Municipal Water District governing board was overturned in supreme court for Living that he revived a medal of honor. The story's that mr Xavier Alvarez had told that 1 said that he had played hockey with the Detroit red wings and married to a Slarlet.however, his other story's did not match up ether to the first one. In this article has diction, description, ethos, logos, RB) Although the court has refused to protect false statements in cases of libel and fraud, it has recognized that "some false statements are inevitable if there is to be an open and vigorous expression of views" in public and private conversation. Nevertheless, despite Alvarez's almost comic mendacity, the court overturned his conviction, ruling 6 to 3 that the Stolen Valor Act — which makes it a crime to falsely claim military honors — violated the 1st Amendment. It was the correct decision. Claims) "Lying was his habit," begins JusticeAnthony M. Kennedy's opinion. "Xavier Alvarez, the respondent here, lied when he said that he played hockey for the Detroit Red Wings and that he once married a starlet from Mexico. But when he lied in announcing he held the congressional Medal of Honor, respondent ventured onto new ground; for that lie violates a federal criminal statute, the Stolen Valor Act of 2005." Claims) Congress' justification for the Stolen Valor Act was to prevent damage to the reputation and meaning of military medals; it was inspired by legitimate solicitude for war heroes. But no one seriously believes people will think less of the Medal of Honor because someone pretends to possess one. If anything, anger over such a fraud reinforces the esteem in which the decoration is held.
